Our customer is a mid sized property management firm that manages over 15000 residential and commercial properties. There IT environment was managed by a solopreneur IT person who was not able to keep up to date on technology and best practices. While the IT provider’s low price was an attraction to the customer, they were not aware that the servers and systems were not been kept up to date. On top of that the incumbent IT provider was not aware on how to properly secure the company’s systems. As a result, the company was hit with ransomware, not once or twice but three times in the period of a month. PCI was called in as a result to secure the systems.
