1. General Policies
PCI understands your valid privacy concerns and is committed to protecting the integrity, confidentiality, security, and accuracy of your Personal Information in accordance with current privacy legislation and industry best practises.
The Online Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) clarifies PCI’s guiding principles for the collection, use, disclosure, retention, and disposal of Personal Information on this site, as well as access to it.
PCI may be compelled to amend its Policy at any time without notice as privacy issues, legal and business obligations grow, and you are encouraged to review it on a frequent basis.
You agree that PCI may use your Personal Information in line with the Privacy Act and this Policy by using the PCI website and providing us with it. “Personal Information” is defined as any information about an identifiable individual within the meaning of Section 3 of the Privacy Act for the purposes of this Policy.
2. Obtaining your Consent
Your consent (“Consent”) can be expressed or implicit. It can be communicated in writing or electronically when you authorise us to check your employment, do a criminal background check, or check and contact your references, for example.
Your permission can be indicated by your actions or inaction. When you submit an application, for example, we assume that you have given your agreement to the collection, use, and disclosure of the Personal Information contained therein for the reasons stated. When you use one of our products, solutions, or services, you may come to the same conclusion. Your authorised representative can also grant your consent, for example, if he or she is giving Personal Information and applying for jobs at PCI on your behalf.
PCI employees and representatives will have access to your personal information for the purposes of their jobs or for the purposes for which it was given.
PCI may collect, use, or disclose Personal Information without your consent in some cases for legal, security, or processing reasons, or where obtaining your consent is difficult in cases covered by applicable privacy legislation. Compliance with applicable laws or court orders, the preservation of the public interest, PCI’s rights, fraud detection and prevention, the use of Personal Information obtained from a third party, and the collection of past-due bills are all examples of such instances.
You have the right to withdraw your Consent at any time, as long as PCI is given adequate notice and no legal or commercial obligations prevent you from doing so.
3. Payment
You will be using an online payment provider’s credit card facilities when paying for any of our services online. Any confirmation provided during the payment process will be stored on the payment provider’s server and subject to its privacy policies.
4. Use of Cookies
A cookie is a little text file that a website server creates and saves on your computer that contains specific pieces of information. PCI employs persistent cookies in order to provide you with a better experience when you visit our site.
Persistent cookies are those that are written to or stored on your computer’s hard disc until they are removed. Persistent cookies are used by PCI to remember information you submitted so that the PCI website can be tailored appropriately, or to determine if a particular user has already completed one of our surveys so that he or she is not questioned again.
5. Security
PCI use software to track site activity and detect unauthorised attempts to upload data, modify information, or do other harm. The software receives and records the IP addresses of computers that visit this site, as well as the date and time of visits, the pages viewed and downloaded, and the identification assigned to each registered user who accesses restricted sections on this site. The software also records the type of browser and operating system being used. Unless there is an attempt to harm the site, PCI does not seek to link IP addresses and identifiers with the identities of users who visit it.
